Women's Commission TV Series 2011
Displaying the Common Experiences among
Hong Kong Women of Different Age Groups in the 21st Century

Collection of Stories

As one of the modern women in Hong Kong, have you experienced any challenges
or obstacles that are unique to women?

Are you willing to share with more people your personal experience as a Hong Kong woman
in the 21st century in order to let more people know about the situation and choices faced by
women of different age groups in the ever-changing society of Hong Kong?

The Women's Commission (WoC) and the Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) will work together again to produce a ten-episode TV series to be launched at the fourth quarter of 2011. This series aims to portray the common experiences among Hong Kong women of different age groups in the 21st century in a TV drama format, so as to enhance public understanding of the multi-facets and situation of women in Hong Kong.

The WoC now invites all women over the territories to share with us their personal experiences of being a Hong Kong woman in the 21st century. Stories collected will be used as background information of the TV series. You may download the form for more details. Deadline for submission is 30 September 2010.

International Womens Day 2010 - Community Involvement

The Women's Commission, since its establishment in January 2001, has celebrated International Women's Day (IWD) with official receptions for members of women's groups and various communities in Hong Kong. Opportunity has also been taken on each occasion to involve as many interested parties as possible in the event and related activities with a view to sustaining and expanding the public attention on the well-being and interests of women.

As in previous years, the Women's Commission has compiled an information leaflet on NGO activities to celebrate IWD. The leaflet aims to collect and collate information on activities to be held around the time of IWD (in the month of March 2010 or afterwards) for the community at large or for women.
